Hair loss in patches - please help?

my brother is 27 and gradually over the past 6 months he started getting small patches of hairloss on his beard/facial hair. it went from 1x 1cm circle to several larger patches which a joining slowly.

Last night i noticed at the back of his head he has 3 other patches on baldness around 3cm in diameter. some of the hair growing back is white on his beard but is Very little. the patches are smooth and practically hair free.

I am very worried about this and i hope it is treatable.

please can u help or give any advice!?

Hair loss in patches - please help?

I am a professional and have seem similar before. they can be many reasons for this. The first thing is to see a doctor. but this can be from extreme stress but also lack of vitamins and minerals in the body. It can also be something more serious that only a doctor will know. If it is vitamins or stress most if not all will return when what is lacking is given back. But if it is from a more serious illness sometimes the hair doesn't come back at all or not much. The longer he waits to see a doctor the worse this will be for him. And can become permanent situation or worse. It very well may not be serious at all but I would not sit on this just for the safety of it.

Hair loss in patches - please help?

Get him to go to the doctor now. There is nothing you can do until you do. The longer he goes the worse it will get. Most all of these things are treatable, but most are cretical in the early stages. The longer he waits the worse his chances of it still be treatable.

Hair loss in patches - please help?

Is he under stress? I had a family member that had hair loss when she was going through her divorce, she started taking Stresstabs and that helped her, it did take several months but it eventually grew back, she did see her doctor too.

Hair loss in patches - please help?

It sounds like aleopcia

It is treatable, he needs to see his doctor.

The doctor may do some tests, as it can have several causes, the most common being stress.

Hair loss in patches - please help?

My brother also started losing his hair in patches. We thought he was just stress or something and he was young in his early 30's when it happen I believe but it turns out he had a zinc deficiency.

Then his son also lost his hair but a fungus cause that.

So it may not be normal hair loss your brother is experiencing but maybe their is a underlying problem causing it like with my brother and his son. In most cases it's treatable.

consider ringworm

Hair loss in patches - please help?

I sounds like alopecia areata, my nephew had that when he was 9 years old and now he is completely bold, he lost his hair on his entire body. ( I'm talking about every single hair in his body ).

Hair loss in patches - please help?

It seems like your brother might have alopecia areata. You can look it up on web md, mercola.com, or check out the link. In general, all indications are that it resolves on its own. God bless.

FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall a lot? Don't worry, you're not alone. Millions of people from all around the world suffer from dry, brittle and weak hair. Some of the possible reasons for falling hair are:

Tension

Too much work

Illness

Poor diet

Over-exposure to the sun

Perming

Amateur bleaching

Too frequent and inexpert use of tints, rinses or other colourants

Here is what you can do to prevent hair fall

Shampoo regularly. Remember, a CLEAN scalp is a HEALTHY SCALP.

Brahmi amla oil also promotes hair growth.

A high protein diet with plenty of fruits, green vegetables and dairy products is a must.

Drink 10-12 glass of water everyday.

Use a very mild shampoo and condition your hair at least twice a week. When you do, make sure you rinse out the conditioner thoroughly, otherwise residue build-up will cause your hair to look limp and dull.

Know your vitamins! IRON is important for healthy hair and brittle, limp hair indicates an iron deficiency. Spinach has a good iron content, so gulp it down!

ZINC helps prevent hair loss and greying. Eat adequate zinc rich foods. Overweight people tend to have zinc deficiency, which is inversely related to the body mass index. Thus if you are overweight and if your hair falls too much, you may want to increase your intake of zinc containing foods. Recipes containing stone ground, wholegrain flour are rich in zinc.

A shortfall in VITAMIN B may cause dandruff, falling hair, loss of colour and could encourage grey hair. So B group Vitamins are essential for gloss, colour and thickness.

VITAMIN C ensures the health of capillaries supplying blood to hair follicles. Make sure your diet includes plenty of fresh fruits and veggies.

VITAMIN E encourages hair growth. Switch from refined flours to wholemeal and wheatgerm, eggs, vegetable oil.

COPPER stops hair from falling. Studies show that the copper content in the blood serum of people with falling hair is less than normal. Different types of alopecia (falling hair) are seen to have a deficiency of this important trace element. Include small quantities of nuts, especially cashews and peanuts, seeds, whole milk and beans in your diet as these contain minute but important amounts of copper.

Homemade remedies for preventing hair fall:

Apply almond oil on scalp and massage.

Grind fenugreek seeds in water and apply on your scalp. Wash off after 40 minutes. Do this every morning for a month 闅哣 if it suits you! Remember, different treatments suit different types of hair.

Massage warm castor oil + almond oil into your scalp gently. Wrap a hot towel around your scalp so it gets absorbed into the hair. Do this twice a week for healthy, shiny hair.

Add 2-3 drops of honey to a glass of water and use this as the last rinse after shampooing.

Quick Hair Care Conditioner

Mix 1 egg, 2 tbs castor oil, 1 tsp vinegar and 1 tsp glycerine. Beat until frothy and massage lightly into your scalp. Wrap your head in a hot towel, steam, then wash off. This conditioner makes hair thicker, shiny, soft and manageable.

Honey Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs (depending on the length of the hair), 1 tsp honey and 2 tsp olive oil. Massage gently into the scalp. Steam, and shampoo after an hour.

Alcohol Conditioner

Beat 1-2 eggs with 2 tsp brandy. Massage into your scalp. Leave for 10-15 mins. Rinse well. The egg nourishes your hair and brandy stimulates hair growth.

Your hair is a vital beauty asset, requiring constant loving care. And with a little nurturing, lush, glossy hair will be yours.

ESSENTIALS FOR FALLING HAIR -

Does your hair fall often Arm yourself with these tools to combat hair fall.

Wide-toothed comb

Get yourself a wide-toothed comb. This is probably one of the most important yet underutilized of all hair tools. A wide-toothed comb helps you distribute conditioner evenly all over your hair while shampooing and conditioning. In addition, it also helps get rid of knots smoothly.

The best time to get rid of knots is during conditioning. Apply conditioner and run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair.

While untangling dry hair, do so in sections. Take one section at a time, and first, untangle the ends of your hair. Do so slowly, and don?t pull unless you want your hair to fall out in clumps or break.

Don?t wait for the last minute before detangling your hair. Every night, while sitting in front of the television, run a wide toothed comb gently through your hair, until you have untangled it completely. Do this every night, and you will notice that your hair remains free from tangles.

Leave-in conditioner

Dry hair tends to tangle easily, and, needless to say, causes it to break. Make sure your hair is never devoid of moisture by always keeping a bottle of leave-in conditioner handy. The next time you feel your hair is dry and rough to the touch, simply rub a dollop of leave-in conditioner between your palms, and apply it to your hair. Comb through with your wide toothed comb. Your hair will be instantly rejuvenated and moisturized. Gradually, the texture will also improve. This is a must if you blow dry your hair regularly, or if it is chemically treated. Such hair constantly craves moisture, so get yourself a bottle of leave-in conditioner.

Oil

Olive, almond and coconut oils are all excellent for the hair. While you could apply oil as an alternative to leave-in conditioner, oil tends to make your hair sticky, and you cannot style your hair well after applying oil. Your only alternative would then be to tie up your hair. For better results with oil, apply just a few drops immediately after washing your hair, when your hair is still dripping wet. Oil doesn?t penetrate the strands as easily as leave-in conditioner does though. Nothing beats a hot oil massage followed by a steam treatment, as the steam helps the oil penetrate the hair strands, strengthening them and curtailing hair fall.

Egg

Egg is great for the hair ? there are no two ways about it! True, it causes a tremendous stink in the bathroom, and your hair may let off an ?eggy? smell, but the results are instantaneous and worth it! Egg strengthens your hair almost immediately, and the egg yolk leaves your hair shining. Whip an egg with two tablespoons of olive oil and apply it to your hair. Wash off after half an hour. Make sure you wash off with cold water though, or the egg will start cooking in your hair, and would be harder to take off! Use a scented shampoo to counter the smell of egg in your hair, and follow up with a leave-in conditioner. Do this for a month, and you will be amazed by the change in your hair texture and the reduction in hair fall.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

laser is another method.......

Removing Facial Hair through Laser

Unwanted facial hair can spoil your appearance. Hence removing them is a must. There are many ways to achieve this goal, both traditional as well as modern. Traditional methods include waxing, shaving, plucking and electrolysis. But you need to do these methods frequently as they do not destroy the hair root but just remove the hair from superficial level.

But with the arrival of laser, everything has changed. Though this treatment may seem expensive, it turns out to be economical in the end. This treatment is carried out by focusing a laser beam with low intensity on the hair follicles. This results in the destruction of hair roots but the skin surrounding it is not affected. Best of all it is painless procedure. If you experience any discomfort, you can ask for local anesthetic to prevent yourself from experiencing the pain. But in general, you can do this process without numbing yourself, as there is hardly any pain involved. Besides, it is a safe process as hardly any pain is involved.

With the laser technology becoming popular, many centers have sprung up offering this facility. Check them out thoroughly before finalizing on one. Find out if you can get the personal attention given from the specialists and whether the latest technology is used. Get recommendations from your friends who have undergone this treatment. Internet as well as yellow pages can also be a good source of information.

You will have to go a certain number of sittings for the treatment. You have to do a minimum number of sitting to get your desired results. Besides, if the area to be treated is large, you will have to pay more. Hence cost becomes the driving factor in your choice of the center. The centers with the ISO certification charge higher than the others. Besides, the quality of staff and the d鑼卌or will also play a role in deciding the price.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Plucking is just too painful and tedious. Waxing leaves your face smooth but also there's option #3-nair cream. I find that nair leaves your face smooth and isn't painful.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Pluck the eyebrows, wax the beard and tache!

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Waxing for sure. Lasts longer and all over and done with really quickly.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

cream actually

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

wax

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

for just a few strays, pluck

for a patch of hair, wax.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

pluck if iits just a bit

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

wax is best

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

definetly waxing its done in a giffy, less painful...pluckin on the other hand is extremely painful...pluckin on the other hand leaves a pale look on the face, rashes sometimes and small bumps...go for waxin gives a kind of even look n removes any dead cells on the face...but be careful where u get it done...care needs to be taken while waxing ...when not done properly , it can lead to problems...

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Wax as it will weaken the hair and grow through much finer.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

plucking, or you could bleach it, which means the hair will go a lighter colour and blend in with your skin and it is less painful.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Wax is better if you have the money and the time. Plucking can be painful, and leave scars.

Laser hair removal is permanent and the best, although the most expensive.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Hair removing cream is good and u don't have to do it very often! x

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Although waxing is a little more painfull, it takes longer for the hair to grow back. Another method you could try is hair removal creams like Nairs, pain free and last longer then shaving.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Depends if you're male or female.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

plucking if its just an odd hair. If it's like a moustache then waxing but once you do this, you'll be at it forever!

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Neither, for facial hair especially you need to use electrolysis. It causes the hairs to start dieing off and grow back less and less strongly so in the end you can stop.

Actually its good for other areas also like underarms and bikini but especially for your face where the skin is more sensitive.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Laser therapy

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

IF YOU WANT IT CHEAP, PLUCK IT! THOUGH IT MAY IRITATE YOUR SKIN BY REMOVING HAIR ONE BY ONE. AND ITS PAINFUL.

IF YOU HAVE MONEY, WAX IT! PAIN COMES ALL AT ONCE! PHYSICALY AND FINANCIAL WISE! :) GOODLUCK!

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

salon waxing

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Never pluck, especially around the lower face. I had been doing it for years and I noticed that the hair was getting darker, more stubborn and coarser (A few strays but not all the hair). I got told this a month ago and it is true. So I advise you wax. Don't use cream it spread the hair from where you have it to areas you don't. If you stopped using the cream you would have a full grown beard!

Also the cream does not last that long. Plucking and waxing lasts longer but waxing is the best by far in all aspects. You pluck the eyebrows because the they are less likely to spread everywhere. Also it doesn't matter if the hair is coarse it is meant to be.

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Salon wax, for gods sake don't try yourself, I had to get my partner to rip the damn thing off my lip in the end ....

there went that little secret.....

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Which is best method to remove facial hair(plucking or wax)?

Hair removal/acne?

If you received facial hair removal would that stop acne from occuring? since its just bacteria infecting the hair follicle, so once you get rid of the hair follicle it wouldnt get infected...right? does that make sense, like it would work or no? i dont have bad acne or anything i'm just thinkin....

Hair removal/acne?

If ingrown hairs are part of the problem it can help. The site http://www.HealthySkinPortal.com can help.

Hair removal/acne?

No,

its caused by dead skin cells and oil on your face.

Im sorry hope that helped

Hair removal/acne?

acne is caused by lots of different things. It's pores on your skin, not hair follicles anyhow. and it's genes, nutrition, stress, dead cells, dirt, bacteria, oil, even smoke or pollution from the air. removing hair won't change those factors.

Hair removal/acne?

Acne is caused by oily skin and bacteria clogging your pores. removing facial hair wouldn't really have an affect.

Do anybody knw how to grown facial hair fast?

A way to grow facial hair fast is using mens rogaine on a cotton swab and applying it to the area of which you want hair to grow on your face. i saw it on the tyra banks show when someone asked how to grow their eyebrows quicker.
